Curriculum

The school follows the British Syllabus, preparing children for the London Board Examinations at GCSE / IGCSE and GCE Level. The medium of instruction is English. Arabic is studied as a compulsory subject from Grade 1 – Grade 10 according to the syllabus of the Ministry of Education and, in addition, French will be offered from Junior 5. According to the pupil’s religion, he/she will study Qur'an or Bible. GCSE Examinations are available in these subjects. In the Senior School, pupils start preparing for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (University of London – GCSE / IGCSE) in English Language, English Literature, French, History, Art, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies.

Students are permitted to select the Science subjects, the Art/Commerce subjects, or a combination of the two, for their concentration from Senior 3, if they are given approval from the school. The choice has to be made at the end of Senior 2.

For Advanced Level the following subjects are offered: Pure Mathematics, Pure and Applied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Accountancy, and Business Studies.

Extra Curricular Acitivities

Extra Curricular Activities are offered after school to students from Junior 5 to Senior 4. They include: Drama, Quiz, Music, Sports, Elocution/Debates, Environment, the School Website, Art/Craft, Cookery & Needlework and Paper Quilling.

School Events

Various events characterize the school year such as Environment Week, the Annual Sports Day, the Junior Christmas Show, Ethnic day, the Annual Concert and the Talent Show

Community service

Grade 12 students are given the opportunity to give something back to the school community during their A Level year by taking part in the Community Service Programme. The scheme allows the students to develop their skills and discover new interests too as it consists of giving a service in one of the following areas of school life:

PREFECTS

Grade 10 students are given an opportunity to assist the school in various ways by performing their duties that are assigned to them. The prefects are chosen by the school staff based on several criteria. The head boy and the assistant head boys who are the head of all the prefects are elected by the prefects and some staff by voting. There is a prefect investiture ceremony annually where the old prefects step down and the new prefects take their position. As the new prefect and head boy election is on the way this column will be updated by 6 April

The senior management team includes Sr. Anne- Marie Quigg, principal, Mr. U. D’Souza, Vice principal, Mr. J. Paul, head of Senior School, Mrs. L. A. Pinto, Head of Middle School and Mrs. O Basilio, head of Junior School, who together reflect on school policy and work with staff and students to ensure that it is implemented at all levels.
